WEBINAR Dyslexia 101 Online: Jan. 23, 2020Dyslexia is a specific learning disability that is neurobiological in origin. It is characterized by difficulties with accurate and/or fluent word recognition and by poor spelling and decoding abilities. In the classroom, dyslexia may be the reason a student falls behind in reading, spelling and/or writing. Join Kendore Learning Executive Director and former IDA-GA president Jennifer Hasser, M.Ed. to learn how to determine if dyslexia is affecting your student and what strategies can help.

Learn the answer to these questions:

• What is dyslexia? How prevalent is it?

• How do I know if my student is exhibiting signs of dyslexia?

• What can I do to best support dyslexic students?

• Why are multisensory strategies based on the Orton-Gillingham approach so important?

In this lively 60-minute session learn why identifying dyslexia is so important and how multisensory Structured Literacy instruction is the key to helping students overcome this challenge.

Why Learn More?

As more and more states enact legislation to ensure students with dyslexia receive appropriate interventions, many educators and parents are just beginning to learn about this learning difference and what strategies can make a difference.
