1/29/2025:

Message from DDGA: We want YOU and your families to join us at the Capitol on Tuesday, February 4th for Dyslexia Day at the Capitol! Over the years, we have opened eyes, hearts and minds to the needs of our students while advocating under the Gold Dome. While we have some legislation on the books, we continue to advocate and share our stories with Georgia’s legislators. There is more work to be done!

9 AM Group photo on the North Stairs inside the Capitol.
Afterwards, go to the galleries of the Senate and House to hear resolutions proclaiming Dyslexia Day being read. Legislators may also share personal stories from the well. We will distribute folders with information on dyslexia to all legislative offices. Feel free to go with your kids to “work the rope” and call your legislator off the floor to discuss your experiences with dyslexia in Georgia schools.

Lunch with legislators will be served from 11:15-12:45 in Capitol Room 230. If you want to extend a personal invitation to your legislator, please do so! We make sure all are invited, but reaching out to them is a bonus.

Adults, please bring ID to enter state buildings!

More details are on the DDGA Facebook page under Events.

Message from DDGA: Add your company/school to the list of Community Partners for Dyslexia Day at the Capitol on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. We put together signage that is at the event to recognize our Community Partners, and we do ask you to consider making a financial contribution to the costs associated with putting on our event via a Sign Up Genius the first week of January; we do not require you to contribute to participate as a Community Partner, but we greatly appreciate it if you do. Decoding Dyslexia Georgia is an independent, grassroots, volunteer-based group that does not have any outside funding, save for what we ask our Community Partners to contribute. Thank you for supporting our work across Georgia.  Sign up with your contact information here: http://eepurl.com/cx7mXv
