How Technology Can Help ALL Learners

Learn about the latest technology tools, apps, and devices that help support ALL learners. With the landscape of learning technology constantly changing and evolving, many new tools are available to help support kids with learning differences succeed in the classroom. This presentation will help parents and teachers gain valuable insight on assistive technology programs that can support student success and help to build confidence and independence. In addition, two Mill Springs Academy alumni will share how assistive technology has helped them in high school, college and in their adult lives.

Our presenters Joyce Derr and Debbie Brineman have each supported students for over 30 years. Joyce is a certified speech-language therapist and Debbie has occupational instruction certification. Both educators are assistive technology professionals with national credentialing through RESNA.  They will share with the audience their extensive knowledge of the latest tools, apps, and devices to support learners.

Attendees are invited to stay after the presentation to enjoy refreshments and the opportunity to speak with the presenters and representatives from the International Dyslexia Association Georgia, Decoding Dyslexia Georgia, North Fulton KID, and Mill Springs Academy.

Outreach events such as this provide opportunities for individuals to connect in person with parents, educators, and others interested in learning and engaging in discussions about dyslexia and related topics.
