Reframing Anxious Behavior for Children with Dyslexia
October 24, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
FreeCoffee Chat with the Arizona Branch of IDA and Special Guest Laura Wingers, PsyD
Frustration. Confusion. Anger. Avoidance. Children with dyslexia may anticipate failure and experience feelings of inferiority when faced with new situations or even seemingly mundane tasks at school and home. Reframing a child’s anxious, defiant, or avoidant behavior, and managing the powerful emotions this stirs for parents, is the focus of this talk, using a strengths-based approach to managing difficult behavior and promoting well-being.
The 20-minute presentation will conclude with a 40 minute Q & A session. All attendees will be muted during the webinar and will use the Q&A feature for questions.
