IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: As a precaution for the health of the students and faculty at the Howard School as well as attendees, this outreach event will be held via LIVESTREAM ONLY.  Get comfy and join us at 6:30 pm on March 25 on the Decoding Dyslexia Facebook Page. During this Facebook Live presentation, attendees will be able to submit questions for the presenters to answer during the Q&A period.

During this outreach presentation, Dr. Molly Kramer will discuss the primary reasons that children with dyslexia tend to feel anxious.  She will differentiate between stress and clinical anxiety and talk about how to recognize clinical anxiety, particularly in children with learning deficits.  She also will discuss strategies for teachers and parents to address their children’s anxiety.  Dr. Kramer will be joined by Lauren Taylor, who will share her own personal story about her son who has been diagnosed with dyslexia and anxiety.  Specifically, Mrs. Taylor will provide strategies for navigating the special education system and advocating for children in schools.

This IDA-GA/DDGA outreach event is free and open to the public.
