Stephen Spielberg didn’t find out about his dyslexia until he was 60 years old.  He recalls that this diagnosis was “the last puzzle piece to a great mystery that I’ve kept to myself.”

Quinn Bradlee sat down with American filmmaker and director Stephen Spielberg in 2012 for a 10’32” interview. To hear the quote in the image and more, fast forward to the 10-minute mark.

“It’s more common than you ever could imagine… You are not alone…There are ways to accelerate your reading skills, to accelerate your comprehension. and there are ways to deal with this… It’s something you will have to deal with the rest of your life, but you can sort of dart between the raindrops to get to where you want to go, and it will not hold you back.”

Powerful words. POWERFUL WORDS.
