Presenter: Julie Eden, Certified Multisensory Math Practitioner

Julie Eden is a Math Teacher at Swift School in Roswell, Georgia. She is certified through a practicum of teaching in this methodology through ASDEC. She is currently participating in the next level of the practicum as a coach and supervisor.

Your time in Ms. Eden’s workshop(s) will be spent engaging in research and evidence-based strategies while working with manipulative
objects, implementing precise instructional language, creating lesson plans and actively participating. You will learn new approaches to
immediately implement in your instructional plans to help your students succeed. academically.

Utilizing a different way of thinking about teaching math concepts, Multisensory Math demonstrates an effective model of instruction
for both inclusive classrooms and individuals. It works for initial introductions or filling the gaps for students who are “instructional
casualties” of predominantly procedural instruction. This multi-sensory approach is not simply based on manipulatives but focuses on
instructional language as the key to unlocking mathematics.

Presentations are created by Marilyn Zecher, M.A., CALT. Mrs. Zecher is a Teacher, Nationally Certified Academic Language Therapist and frequent conference presenter for IDA, LDA and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
