Our Mission
The International Dyslexia Association Georgia Branch (IDA-GA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, scientific and educational organization formed to increase public awareness of dyslexia and to promote effective teaching approaches and related clinical educational intervention strategies for struggling readers. IDA-GA is a resource and support system for individuals with dyslexia and the families, professionals, and communities that surround them. IDA Georgia provides an information and referral hotline, community outreach activities, annual conferences, scholarships and grants, free expert webinars, and e-newsletters. We also maintain a frequently updated, resource-rich website and YouTube video library and post regularly on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Our Dyslexia Dash 5K is our annual Dyslexia Awareness Month event that raises funds for teacher training scholarships and grants and outreach initiatives.
IDA’s mission is to create a future for all individuals who struggle with dyslexia and other related reading differences so that they may have richer, more robust lives and access to the tools and resources they need.
IDA is dedicated to the study and treatment of dyslexia. IDA members receive information about managing dyslexia, access to an international network of professionals in the field, discounts on conference fees and publications from our Online Store – quarterly and biannual publications, and affiliation with local branches opening a gateway to a learning community of other individuals sharing our mission.
Membership in the Georgia Branch is included in the cost of IDA membership. Find out more here.
