 What is happening in Georgia’s public schools? 

The IDA-GA Board presented at the Open Membership Meeting on 11/16/2024 that there have been some changes to the GaDOE website.

In 2022-23, IDA-GA/TRL-GA/GaDOE teamed up to host Dr. Kristin Sayeski and Dr. Jennifer Lindstrom as guests to dive deeper into the GaDOE Dyslexia videos. Revised Handbook! Publication Date: July 22, 2024  (Another update will be coming in 2025!)
NOTE: Be careful. If you search for Georgia’s Dyslexia Handbook, the 2022 version will likely pop up. Make sure you are looking at the latest 2024 version

The 2024 GaDOE Dyslexia Informational Handbook provides information for parents, educators, and others who wish to learn more about dyslexia, appropriate interventions, and Georgia’s dyslexia legislation. Updated sections incorporate the requirements of the Georgia Early Literacy Act, reflect improved alignment with Georgia Multi-tiered System of Supports (GaMTSS), and guide educators in Identifying and Addressing Reading Difficulties Across the Tiers. New sections include an overview of the Science of Reading and Considerations for English Learners At Risk for Dyslexia. Click the image below.
