Message from TRL-GA Elizabeth Hogan

I served on the Georgia Literacy Screener Advisory Committee along with 15 other educators in our state that have specific expertise in literacy. We worked for hours, developed a strong rubric, rated over 13 literacy screeners, compared and debated scores and left our last meeting in October certain we were recommending the best to the state school board.

Imagine my surprise when a memo was released over the weekend listing 5 screeners that were not what our committee had recommended! 1 is completely missing and 2 are added that were low performers on our rubrics!
The state school board will vote on the screeners this Thursday and I and many other committee members will be there. We want the original 4 screeners the committee recommended!

Please join us and sign the petition!

Thank you!
